AIRWORTHINESS DEPARTMENT (AWD)
Beyond everything stated on page “Safety” (relates to 4 core activities), AWD within CAD is responsible for determining of initial and periodical review of airplane airworthiness, issuing CofA & ARC, maintaining airplane register. Doing so, the Department sets the requirements, procedures and forms for the issuing of certificates and approvals which are required in order to fly a registered aircraft, as per applicable national law and, bi-law regulations.
Service providers certification & oversight (DO, CAMO, AMO, TO)
Aviation-technical activities include design, production, testing, type certification, maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircrafts, components, parts and equipment. Service providers covering named activities are under CAD AWD survivalence in the areas of initial certification, audits, inspections and safety oversight. CAD AWD develops, maintain, revise, record and file all necessary requirements, procedures, forms.
Aviation-technical Service providers are obliged to be accepted and approved by CAD issuing proper initial certificates and licenses, requiring periodical review and renewal done trough scheduled audits and inspections, where AWD is checking regulatory compliance as well as safety performance to ensure fulfillment of requirements relates to working space, certifying staff, equipment & tooling, resources, exposition manuals and other regulatory prerequisites, including achieved safety performance.
